Accidents, reckless driving, and drag racing. All reasons why so many people agree with raising the driving age from 16 to 18. A couple of states are seriously considering, or already raised the driving age. Some of the worst car accidents have happened because of teenagers from ages 16-18 who were thought to be too young to be behind the wheel. Places like Chicago, IL are in deep thought if this is safe for the city's roads. A group of teenagers went out for a late drive in Chicago when the car spun out of control They hit various things such as a lamp pole, which caused 2 out of 3 teenager to die. The driver was only 16. 10% of American teenagers have died in car accidents. Do you really want this to continue? Stop the madness from killing any more innocent teenagers by raising the driving age from sixteen to eighteen. By: Ellie =) and Elena ;]

Sixteen-year-old drivers are most likely to crash. Out of all the crashes 76% of all the crashes are most likely from sixteen year olds. Parents from the kids have to pay for the damage. In some other places they have changed the driving age. Highway safety people agree with this rule and think they should raise the driving age. Raising the driving age would make the Highways more safe. James,Emily,Zach, and Elena

OUR GROUP THINKS THAT THE DRIVING AGE BEING RAISED IS A GOOD IDEA (NOT REALLY) IT WOULD PREVENT DEATHS IN LARGER CITIES. IT WOULD ALSO KEEP THE ROADS SAFER WITHOUT TEENAGERS DRIVING AROUND. ALSO INCREASING THE AGE WOULD BE MORE GREEN TO THE EARTH. ALOT OF THE ACCIDENTS HAPPEN BECAUSE TEENAGERS ARE LATE AND THE SPEED AND CRASH AND DIE AND MAKE PEOPLE SAD PE CAUSE THEY DIED.

Due to some unfortunate accidents the U.S. Government is planning to raise the driving age from 16-18. Leaving many teenagers outraged they do not realize this is for their own safety. Many teenagers are not responsible drivers and could endanger themselves, their piers, or anyone else driving near them. People under 16 aren't allowed to purchase guns so why should they be able to purchase a car? A car can be even more dangerous than a gun. Responsible drivers will be punished for something they didn't do, but we may be saving their lives from an accident that wasn't their fault.

The U.S. Government is planning on raising the driving age from 16 to 18. This is a good idea because teen driving has been proven dangerous. Between 1995 and 2004 there were 30,917 fatal crashes. Also raising the age would give the teens more time and experience to practice driving so that they wouldn't have as many crashes. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that the rate of crashes, fatal and nonfatal, per mile driven for 16 year old drivers is almost 10 times the rate of drivers 30 to 59. 77% of all crashes are crashes that were made by 16-17 year old teenagers. If people at this age aren't allowed to buy gun or allowed to drink, then why should we give them a car? This can be even more deadly than either of these things. So if the age was raised then a lot of these problems would be abolished.

Our group thinks that the driving age should be raised to 17 or 18. In the years 1995-2004 there were over 30,000 deaths from car crashes caused by drivers aged from 15-17. The drivers test should be raised in difficulty so teens will be more prepared. Also in drivers ED classes the teachers should decide if the driver should be able to get their licenses at the age 17 or 18. If the driving age is raised to 17 or 18 that will mean the teens will have more experience driving so they will be more prepared for driving alone.

Our group thinks thast the driving age should be raised, because 76-77% of all car accidents happen with teenager who are 16-17 years of age. This does disappoint many teenagers, but they don't see that this is for their own safety. Also, sixteen-year-old's brains aren't developed completely. Many states are really considering to, or already have raised their driving age. Some of the worst accidents happen with teenagers, who are 16-17 years old, and many drive recklessly. The U.S. Government is also planning on raising the driving age from 16-18. Teen driving has been proved to be dangerous. Raising the age would also give the teens experience to practice driving. If people who are 16-17 years old aren't allowed to drink, or buy a gun, so why should they be allowed to drive a car? A car is just as dangerous as both of these. If the age was raised, many of these problems would be gone, and the roads would be safer.

Grace and I both think the driving age should be raised because it is a lot easier to use. 18 is a perfect age because it is when you vote, you can move out of your parents house, and buy stocks without parental consent (adult age). Also at 15 or 16 you are a lot more distracted by texting. 77% of all accidents are caused by a new 15 or 16 year old driver. Study has shown that at 18 years of age drives a lot better than a 16 year old. There are so many reasons to have the driving age raised to 18 but we believe the most crucial problem is maturity and how well a driver can concentrate. HI MRS. GASSER

Driving Age Should Be Raised Is 16 too young to drive? If you are a teen you probably think differently. But adults like The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Adrian Lund think the driving age should be raised to 17 or 18. Do you agree? Well several people including Lund agree with this argument. Several people think that age has to do with experience. Does age affect experience? Several people think that f you begin teaching teens how to drive at a younger age such as 14 or 15. Then easing them in to driving more gradually with more supervision, by the time they are 17 or 18 they will have more experience. 76-77% of all car accidents happen with teens of 16-17 years of age. Teen driving is usually reckless and dangerous. In Conclusion, raising the driving age would be better for teens and better for other people on the road. It would also give teens more experience.

Tests show that 15% of all accident deaths on UK roads involve drivers under the age of 21. 16 year old drivers crash at a higher rate than people over the age of the age of 16. Also 16 year olds may not have a fully developed brain it usually takes until they're 25 until their brain is fully developed, which could prevent them from making the correct decision, like texting. You wouldn't trust a 16 year with a lot of money or alcohol, so why pretty much trust them with people's lives. Plus if one of these kids dies they could be the kid that could discover the cure for cancer, for example Obama used to do drugs now he's the president.

If the driving age got raised teens would be more prepared. Parents will also feel better about giving them the permission to drive. It's not fair but necessary. This can save lives because their going to be more prepared. Plus teens can get distracted easily by a phone call or text or friends in the car. Raising the age will make it safer on the road.

We think the drivng age should be raised because of responsibilities. The crashes in the usa are because of 16 year olds. However 18 year olds are mor responsible and are considered adults. Every one (pets, children, drivers, etc.) will be safer.

Driving age should be raised because deaths would lower. In New Jersey the death rate lowered 30% because they raised the driving age from 16 to 17 (only one year!!). Now, imagine if they raised the driving age from 16 to 18 or 19!

We think that the driving age should be raised because more deaths occur with unexperienced drivers. Maybe the person should stay in driving school for at least a couple of years. Then maybe the person may know how to drive a little bit better. Maybe when the person is taking the driving lesson they may drive cautiously but when they pass the driving test they may act different like crazy. They really aren't being watched so that is why they probably get in accidents. I agree with the driving age in New Jersey. That is why there aren't a lot of crashes there.
