I think that changing how we eat and transport ourselves could help shape the future. It probably won't heal everything we've done to Earth, but it might help if we try. I think that since CO2 can stay in the atmosphere for 400 more years, we should try to lower the CO2 level. lowering that level will make Wisconsin more cold overtime, but it would help make the world a more natural place that wouldn't have hot summers. Two hundred years is a lot of time, and were probably not going to succeed in stop immediately using CO2, so it will probably take more than the time that's said. We may never even lower the CO2 level but 50 years from now, I would want it to be nice fresh, cool air that I breathe when I go outside. I hope the planet isn't so polluted when I grow up, and that we'll actually be taking care of the planet then. Maybe we could do more than eat imported foods and use greener transportation, but it would take a lot of people to do that.

I think in 50 years from now if we keep acting the way we do right now and if we keep treating the earth badly then the future isn't going to be very beautiful. We are going to go through this climate change and it is going to affect our environment. If we make little changes in the way we treat our planet then we will have a better future for everyone to live in. Like for instance one thing that the article talks about is reducing our traveling and eating foods that are grown closer to your home. Like having a garden that has lots of vegetables, fruits, and herbs to use and eat. People everywhere should really pitch in and help. Another thing that needs to happen is we need to reduce the amount of CO2 we put into the air. All the CO2 can be very dangerous to the environment and to all the people who live on the earth. I hope that many people start thinking more about reducing the CO2 that goes into the air.

There are lots of things you could do to help to reduce the level of CO2. One way that we can help is by turning of lights. Wecan also plan our roughts when you drive around to reduce CO2 levels in the atmosphere. I think that people really need to step up and try to make a diffrence. Little things can help like you can drink out of a reuseable water bottle. I Agree with Gabbi that we should plant gardens so we can get vegitables right outside. That would mean that you would not have to drive all the way to get vegitables.

I agree with Michael, Gabbi, and Kathryn. There are many things you could to help reduce the rate of CO2 in the atmosphere, and many of those things do not take much effort. Small things like car pooling for an event can make a big impact on our planet. If people could realize what the situation of the Earth might be if we keep living like this, I'm sure they would be more alert. The way we are using fossil fuels up, so fast, won't last forever. And when all the fuels are gone, those who did not find environmentally healthy ways to live will suffer the most out of everyone. That's why it's so important to start coming up with ideas now, so we can prevent the troublesome future that we see in movies sometimes. I like the idea Gabbi came up with, planting a garden in your back yard is a great way to start reducing your footprint on the Earth. Even though some things we do hurt the Earth, they are be inevitable. Overall, I think we should at least try and reduce the CO2 level as much as we can to make a brighter future for ourselves.

Recently more people have been aware of climate change and are trying to reduce it. Something that would help lower the Co2 level is not wasting gas. We can do this by carpooling. It would help the earth a lot. Also, as it says in the article it wastes gas to transport food long distances. So we can all try eating more lOcal food. If everyone turns off the lights when they're not using them, That would help save the earth. If everyone does little things like this, the earth might actually look decsent in 50 years.

I would like our earth to have less factories, and more farmland 50 years from now. Over time, that would reduce the CO2 level in our atmosphere. The secret to less CO2 in our atmosphere is most likely using carbon sinks. If you plant a tree, it will hold on to carbon releasing it slowly, then when it dies, it will eventually become fossil fuels as long as human's don't interfere. Gabbi's idea about growing our own vegetables, would be helpful because then we don't have to drive our car down to the grocery store whenever we run out of carrots or lettuce. The only problem is many people are afraid of change. Sometimes people are worried about more work, or more expenses, but in the end a simple change from grocery shopping to gardening is simple. Even if you still buy what you can't grow, you can still reduce your carbon footprint with these simple changes.

I agree with Erin. Now, people have been becoming more aware of the change in climate. They have also been trying to reduce the use of natural reasorces. Something that would definatly help, like Erin said, to reduce CO2 levels and not waste as much gas on manufacturing. In 50 years, if we really try to help the earth and clean it up and also not waste as much gases, the earth could look pretty good. But at this rate, if we keep abusing our earths natural reasorces, the earth could look pretty crappy. To help clean up and not be as wasteful we could carpool, turn off the lights when we leave the room, unplug anything that we are not using, and take shorter showers, make use of wind enrgy and nuclear technologies. All of those together if we all try to do them, we could make the earth a lot better and live happier and also with less worry.

In 50 years from now I think the world should look like it is now, but we still need to reduce the level of cardon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide takes up 74% of the atmosphere, so it only makes sence to use carbon sinks more and more. Carbon sinks are places on the Earth ,like trees, that hold carbon dioxide for long periods of time. If we would plant more trees and grow are own food that would gragually reduce the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Although we do need some in the atmosphere. One way you can hel[p make this happen other than useing sinks are little things. For instints, insted of useing a snow blower wwe can shovel the snow in our drive ways.I would like the world to have lots of farms and parks, but also less factories.

I agree with Michael. I think it would be great if 50 years from now the world was the same. But even if it was, we would still need to reduce the amount of carbon in the air. Though, I would hope that 50 years from now, we had made a difference in the and make less carbon go in the air. There are lots of things that we can do help, like carpool, turn off lights, have many gardens, and travel less. This is very important because since the Greenhouse Effect makes the earth 34 C, or 61 F, warmer than it would be, it can cause global warming. People need to become more aware in climate change, like Noelle said. We need to reduce the CO2 level in the atmosphere. It is a very good thing that we don't only have carbon sources, but also carbon sinks, like the ocean, the forests, and soil.

I aggre with Michael, I think the world should look like it does now. I think we should use more carbon sinks which are places that hold carbon dioxcide. Trees can hold carbon dioxcide and carbon dioxcide is in the air. The air is contaminated with carbon dioxcide, carbon dioxide is 74 prcent of the air. We should plant trees more than the smaller plants because they can store more carbon dioxcide then most plants and keep it longer. If we cut down on the electronics it can really help the enviorment. If we just shove instead of using a snowblower and shut off the water in the sink while we are brushing our teeth. If we do that my vision of baterie powered cars, more things that are recyclable and less factories will help my virsion of the earth come true.

I agree with Sara, it bothers me a lot to see power plants letting out all that pollution. Nuclear power plants, if made safer, would be a better alternative. Another idea I thought of is to grow native plants around your house. Because native plants use less resources, whereas non-native plants require extra resources such as special foods. I also thought taking direct flights instead of multiple stop flights.

In fifty years I think the earth should look the same as it does now. If people can do the simple tasks of just eating locally grown foods, car pooling or just traveling less in general, this will reduce the levels are CO2. Ways you can do these things are go to farmers markets or planting your own foods, or having electric cars that will stop the use of fuel contributing to CO2 levels. Other things we can do are plant more carbon sinks like trees or just keep them around like oceans. We should do this because carbon sinks trap large amounts of carbon from leaving the earth and going in to the atmosphere. This way we can keep the earth at normal CO2 levels and preserve it the way it is for future generations.

I think in fifty years I would like there to be a lot more people helping more about global warming than many are doing now. Right now people think that it is not such a big deal, and that it will not have any long-term effects on the invironment, when they do not realize how much CO2 they release into the earth's atmosphere on a daily basis. Driving in cars, or any other vehicle, using electronics of any sort, and many other thing we do release more and more gasses into the Earth's atmosphere. And we are also destroying the cycle that helps take away those gasses to. One of the most major things that we do that make this happen are cutting down trees. Many are trying to stop large companies from cutting down trees, but we are still not planting back as many as wew cut down.

I think that in 50 years I would like the world to look more natural, without so many factories that burn fossil fuels. When we burn fossil fuels in factories we release carbon into the atmosphere. Carbon levels have been rising in our air since 1750. That was around the same time when there was an increase in industrial activities that burn fossil fuels and give off carbon. If we want our earth to look natural and healthy in 50 years we need to stop burning so many fossils fuels.

I agree with Gabby if we keep treating the planet like we are treating it now in 50 years we will have a ton of CO2 in our atmosphere. Most of the fossil fuels will be used up. Like the article said when the CO2 levels rise then the earth's temperature also rises,so in 50 years if we don't start lowering thr CO2 levels than we are going to have hot temperatures. The ice will melt and the ocean will rise. The world will have pretty polouted oceans and the citys that are near water might flood. If we don't start cutting down on simple suff like paper toels when we wash our hands then we will not have as much trees which will make the CO2 levels raise even higher. If we want to stop that from from happening than we need to find ways to cut back on fossil fuels. We should stop driving to far places just to go to the right mall or things like that. We could even make some of our own food like in gardens. Its simple things like that that will help our climate.

I agree with Madeleine in 50 years I would like the world to look nicer and more natural, but we are making more fossil fueled powered automobiles and factories. I never knew this before but a place called carbon sinks can keep carbon out of the atmosphere for a long time. I like carbon sinks because if carbon does not get into the atmosphere then it is colder it is the more likely it is to have snow days. The greenhouse effect is when solar radiation reflects off the earth and then while trying to get out of the atmosphere is caught by greenhouse gas molecules which warms the earth's surface and that is the greenhouse effect.
